It’s time to give your mind a spring cleaning!

Spring is a time we have all been waiting for especially after this record breaking winter here in Boston. We are beyond ready for some real nice weather! It is so common this time of year to do some spring cleaning of your closets and drawers or start a cleanse to reset your body but I’m going to challenge you to include your mind in your spring cleaning this year. How does that sound? Some may say this sounds strange others may say sign me up I’m ready! Well I’m going to share how you can change your mind and by doing so you will change you life.

Most of us go about our daily lives with negative thoughts or limiting beliefs running through our minds on a consistent basis which get in the way of living a life beyond our wildest dreams. We think we can’t have that relationship, job, or life we dream of because we are not pretty enough, not smart enough, or not good enough. You see we pick up these limiting beliefs throughout our lives and it is time to unlearn these belief patterns and replace them with new loving thoughts. I am here to say that none of these negative thoughts are true unless you think they are and it’s time to kick them to the curb.

The first step to cleaning your mind is to become the gentle witness of your thoughts and take inventory of when you think of a negative thought or limiting belief. You can either jot them down or make mental notes. Do not criticize yourself or be alarmed by how many negative thoughts you have just be aware of them and know you are in the process of unlearning them. Then you want to become willing to see things differently and reframe your thought into a loving affirmation that you can think of whenever you think of the negative thought. It can be as simple as saying “I am good enough” whenever the limiting belief of not being good enough enters your mind. This is something that will take some time but if you are willing to do the work I promise you that you will start noticing results and start living a happy dream.
